Douglas “Wrong Way” Corrigan began the second leg of his long-distance flight on this day in 1938. His flight plan was filed in New York to return to Long Beach, CA, but instead, he flew to Dublin. Corrigan claimed to have lost his bearings.
RKO made a movie about Wrong Way Corrigan’s exploits the next year, starring himself.
