BROADWAY + COLFAX: Presidential Name Battle™ →
broadwayandcolfax:
Presidents! They’re just like us! They sometimes have really weird first names.
I made a Millard Fillmore joke on Twitter this morning it got me thinking. Was anyone so inspired by the Compromise of 1850 that they actually named their kid Millard? Did anyone ever lapse in judgement for so long…
Both an awesome and timely use of our Name Data!

Happy Birthday, HAL 9000!
Happy Birthday to our favorite fictional supercomputer! Is it strange that HAL was built in Urbana and Wolfram|Alpha (our favorite actual supercomputer) was born in Champaign, its twin city?
We promise to open the pod bay doors if you ever need it.

Currently six, “all on the International Space Station.” Twelve more astronauts are scheduled to go during 2012, and China will be sending its first taikonauts to the Tiangong experimental space station it launched last year.
And here is where the ISS is at this very moment.

Shopping Goes Geek in Wolfram|Alpha
We’ve taken the strengths we’ve developed in math, science, and socioeconomic data and created something equally unique and useful for online shoppers. Type in the name of a product category—”dishwashers” or “tablet computers,” for example—and Wolfram|Alpha generates a comprehensive, custom analysis. What are the typical dimensions and other physical characteristics of other products in this...
